The ARCFISH team kicked off 2025 with a first sit-down with our Greenlandic stakeholders. On 29th January, we were delighted to welcome representatives from the Greenland Institute of Natural Resources (Pinngortitaleriffik), the Greenland Ministry of Fisheries and Hunting (Aalisarnermut Piniarnermullu Naalakkersuisoqarfik), Oceans North Kalaallit Nunaat, and Royal Greenland. The ARCFISH consortium was represented by Aarhus University, Nansen Environmental and Remote Sensing Center (coordinator), MATIS Ohf, and Kongsberg Discovery.

The purpose of the meeting was to present the ARCFISH project to potentially interested stakeholders, and to gather specific information about stakeholder needs.

During the meeting, the ARCFISH DTO was presented by Kongsberg Discovery, comprising a demonstration of the applications of their Blue Insight digital twin technology. This was followed by a presentation of the modelling capacities of Aarhus University for 3D ecosystem modelling in Disko Bay.

Exchanges between the stakeholders and the ARCFISH team were crucial to the meeting. It allowed for participants to ask and answer questions, and for the eventual development of an Arctic DTO tailored to stakeholder needs.

Stay tuned to this space for further updates on the outcomes of the meeting.
