ARCFISH at the Danish Climate Science Symposium 2026

ARCFISH was part of the Danish Climate Science Symposium 2026 in Copenhagen, where Marie Maar from project partner Aarhus University presented the project's work on Digital Twins of the Ocean for Arctic fisheries.
Held on 27–28 October 2026 and hosted by the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the symposium brought together researchers and experts to discuss climate change, its impacts and the role of science in supporting adaptation and decision-making.
Marie contributed to the event's poster programme with “ACFISH – Digital Twin of the Ocean for Arctic Fisheries”, highlighting the project's approach to combining marine observations, ecosystem modelling and fisheries data to improve understanding of changing Arctic marine environments. This work focuses particularly on the ARCFISH applications in managing the shrimp fisheries of Disko Bay, Greenland.
The symposium addressed several topics closely connected to ARCFISH, including climate impacts on marine ecosystems in Greenland, ocean warming and interactions between ice and ocean processes.
ARCFISH's participation provided an opportunity to raise awareness of how Digital Twins of the Ocean can contribute to climate-informed, sustainable fisheries management in the Arctic.
