
Vibe Schourup-Kristensen, Aarhus University, visited Nuuk, Greenland this week to take part in the “Mini-conference on climate research, marine environment and the UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development." The event took place throughout the 2nd and 3rd October 2024.
The conference was hosted by the International Arctic Hub, Greenland Institute for Natural Resources, and the National Center for Climate Research at the Danish Meteorological Institute, and consisted of four different sessions.
Day 1 (October 2nd):
Session 1: Greenland climate and extremes, observational networks.
Session 2: Past present and future of the Greenland Ice Sheet and glaciers.
Day 2 (October 3rd):
Session 3: Climate variability and trends in the marine environment, observed, predicted and projected.
Session 4: The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021-2030).
Vibe presented ARCFISH and outlined the plans for the ARCFISH Greenland Case Study in Disko Bay.
